Central Group Vietnam, the owner of the Big C supermarket chain, has launched a program called “Livelihood for Communities” to support the production and livelihoods for farmers, fishermen and poor households in coastal areas and remote areas, whose average monthly income is less than VND5 million.

Tran Van Chuong, manager of the program under Central Group Vietnam, said the corporation has realized the huge development potential of agriculture, handicraft and Vietnamese small and medium enterprises. The program is aimed to help farmers and fishermen to lead a stable life and increase their income by promoting their own products.

Currently, some farming households do not have sufficient access to the distribution network and modern retail channels and have yet to develop unique farm products associated with the history and culture of their locality.
