The spirit of Tet

It might be a thrilling experience to take a trip to the Mekong Delta before Tet to eye-witness local residents making preparations for the biggest annual holiday.

Around this time of year, families in the countryside gather to prepare ingredients such as rice, meat and banana leaves to make banh tet, a traditional glutinous rice cake stuffed with pork and ground green beans, and wrapped in banana leave. Therefore, travelers should try staying at the homes of local residents to learn how to cook the traditional Vietnamese dish.
